Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of TV series тhe “Walking Dead” under the prism of representing the forms of adapting a person to a rapidly changing, crumbling social organization on a TV screen. This analysis becomes particularly relevant during the development of the Coronavirus pandemic (COWID-19), which has spread across the globe, since the end of 2019. The current situation raises questions about the interaction of the individual with social institutions designed to ensure the safety and well-being of civil society. The plots of the television series about the zombie apocalypse can illustrate of the most tragic development of events when states are unable to protect their citizens. The characters, once in the ruins of ruined statehood, are forced to fight the dangers of the world around them and try to restore the lost patterns of social interaction that governed their lives within the framework of familiar civilization. We can study the forms of adapting individuals to the proposed conditions and methods of organization of living space in the context of a cinematic apocalypse by using theoretical positions A.Ya. Flier about a culture as a strategy of adapting humanity to the world and the concept of social construction of reality by Berger and Luckmann.
