Abstract

The Kamakura period is a time, when warriors not only became a ruling class in Japan, but played a key role in creation of new patterns in Japanese culture. The paper presents an attempt to study the part of warrior’s world outlook connected with women’s status, and to examine samurai moral ideal in its application to women, its requirements and its reflection in texts of epoch.
