The text presented is an excerpt from the “Memories of the distant past" (1969) by the artist, translator, and pedagogue Inna Grigorievna Samsonova (nee Voronina). The author tells about the life of her family before the revolution, about the post-revolutionary situation on the territories of Russia and Ukraine in 1917-1920, and about her husband - the philosopher N.V. Samsonov and his colleagues E.N. Trubetskoy, L.M. Lopatin and others, about her meetings with G.G. Myasoedov etc. The text is thoroughly commented. In the foreword to the publication based on the archive investigations, some facts of I.G. Samsonova’s and N.V. Samsonov’s biographies are specified.
