Abstract

An analytical review of "XV International Likhachev readings" is presented. The Conference took place in May, 2015 in St.-Petersburg. That subject of the quite a representative conference was "Modern Global Challenges and National Interests". The discussions revolved around the following problems: national models of life arrangement and the international conflicts; the Nation and nationalism in the globalized world; national economies in the context of global challenges; the national law in the conditions of globalization; information challenges of the XXI century and freedom of mass media. The main attention was paid to the problems of human development, socio-cultural and national identity, humanitarian cooperation and human rights. Key words: the Global and the National, differentiation and integration; dialog of the cultures, human capital, humanism, basic Human values.
