The Turing Test and artificial intelligence in the early 21-st century

Abstract

A test suggested by Alan Turing to determine whether the machine can think is described. The dialogue with the first machine which passed the Turing test, that is “Eugene Goostman”, is analyzed. The conclusion is made that because of peculiarity of human thinking passing the Turing test in our days is a necessary but not a sufficient condition. Some contemporary philosophical and scientific experiments aimed at detecting and understanding artificial intelligence are described.
