Abstract

The author mediates on Tolstoy's doctrine of the life, of the Human being, his/her “second birth in spirit” and real life, that is quite non-classical from the point of view of philosophical systems: it is not a science-like anthropological doctrine that Tolstoy originates, but rather a specific creative space, where everything the Human can experience is being experienced and reflected upon. It is demonstrated how Tolstoy's specific dualised consciousness that is in the same time the consciousness of the life process actor and observer, becomes a space of reconciliation of his religious beliefs and life practices.
