Abstract

The article is devoted to the intellectual biography of the Russian thinker Andrei Bolotov (1738-1833), who managed to use in practice his philosophical principles to improve his life planning. In his autobiography “The Life and Adventures of Andrei Bolotov” he describes how he overcame an unhappy love; in a philosophical treatise “Guide to True Human Happiness” he analyzes the structure of the soul and shows how victory of reason over emotions is possible.
