Abstract

The article deals with concepts “honor” and “shame” in the medieval culture. The author is interested in the phenomenon of shame in its existential, anthropological and cultural meanings. The author focuses her attention on the connection between honor, shame and the figure of The Other in three different ethics: knightly, Christian, courteous.
